ABOUT THE TEACHER
Daisy Li's musical odyssey commenced at the tender age of 4, and over the course of two decades, she has graced countless stages with her extraordinary musical prowess. Her journey is a testament to remarkable precocity, as she unveiled her debut piano solo album at the remarkable age of 12, laying the foundation for a truly exceptional career.
Beyond her captivating performances, Daisy's deep-seated passion for music transcends the confines of the stage. With a rich teaching experience spanning over 7 years, she has nurtured students of all levels, from budding beginners to college-level prodigies. Her pedagogical expertise is not confined to academic settings alone; esteemed music institutions across the globe have sought her guidance.
Daisy's teaching journey began in June 2017 and continues to this day. She has left an indelible mark as a dedicated piano instructor, offering both group and private lessons. Notably, she served as an Adjunct Piano Faculty member at NYU from 2021 to 2023. Her commitment to nurturing musical talent extends to chamber coaching and collaboration, showcasing her versatility and unwavering dedication to the art.
Daisy Li's academic journey has been instrumental in shaping her musical pursuits. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from NYU, awarded in May 2023. She also completed her Master of Music at the New York University Steinhardt School from the fall of 2021 to May 2023. Her undergraduate education at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, spanning from January 2018 to May 2021, provided a strong foundation for her musical journey.
Daisy's talents extend beyond her piano virtuosity and teaching skills. She possesses proficiency in multiple languages, including Mandarin and English, along with a year of French learning that resulted in her achieving a B1 level in the TEF. Her accomplishments as a vocal singer in the traditional Chinese music style, harmonizing effortlessly with piano melodies, further underline her musical versatility. Daisy's expertise includes the Kodály and Orff approaches for early childhood music education, as well as the ability to conduct and play the piano for choirs or choruses. Her proficiency in ABRSM and RCM at all levels and AP music theory underscores her comprehensive musical knowledge.
